“Rustorations” Shoot with Mike Wolfe from American Pickers

American Pickers has long been one of my favorite shows. I’m a gypsy at heart and I’ve been a lover and collector of odd, old and unusual things for as long as I can remember, so Mike is very much a kindred spirit.

One of the things that I love about Mike is that he actually is the person that he appears to be on TV. He is truly passionate about picking and it really is what he does for a living.

When Mike suggested we shoot a story piece for his new line of industrial modern lighting fixtures and home decor I was thrilled! Everything he and his creative team design is actually from real objects that he picks out on the road while they are travel across America!

Mike jumped right in during the filming process and by the end of the day he was as sweaty and dusty as a person should be who spends the day rooting through and old barn or cellar.

During one scene I had him pulling an old barn pulley out from under some roots and stones and a fairly large rock broke loose and gashed is hand… all just part of a days work.

Check out the new Rustorations site and next time you are in the decorating mood you should definitely get some of their hand made, one of a kind fixtures.
